Killam is located in east-central Alberta in the middle of Battle River Country at the crossroads of two major highway arteries, Highway 13 and 36. Highway 13 is an alternate route to the Yellowhead linking Edmonton and Winnipeg while Highway 36 connects the U.S. border and Fort McMurray, Alberta. Both these highways are supporting ever increasing traffic loads created by active oil and gas fields in the area as well as the tourist attractions in Killam and the scenic lake country north.
Killam offers many amenities found in city settings such as an indoor swimming pool, recreation and nature parks, public schools, active and auxiliary hospitals etc. while enjoying the rural tranquility.
